Professor Greg Barton of Monash University, Melbourne, was invited by The Fountain magazine to Singapore to give a talk to the faculty staff on the recent developments in the Middle East. Professor Barton analyzed the perception of Islam in the West, the role Indonesia and Turkey can play in this context, and how social movements like the Hizmet Movement inspired from Fethullah Gülen can contribute to the welfare of respective societies.
